General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The birth control implant you have has progesteron derivative as an active hormone for contraception. Irregular menses, breast tenderness & weight gain are known side effects of the hormone. Its not a sign of pregnancy.

Though the effects are more evident in first few months of insertion, you need to control weight gain by lifestyle management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
