What Causes Missed Period And Abdominal Cramps Post Miscarriage?

Dear Dr. I had a miscarriage,my cleaning have done on march 24,2016.After the cleaning happened, till yet I didn t get my period.But every month I felt cyclical pain inside,it feels like period is going on,but somehow blood doesn t come out. :-( Over the month I felt no pain,except those 4-5 days.whenever pain started,I cant even pass urine or stools. :-( I visited my dr.,she told me to go for sono-graphy and urinary routine.All are normal,than she gave me duphaston to take twice a day.Still I m very scared! What should I do?

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the missed period with abdomen cramps and recent history of dilatation and curettage are due to residual changes in uterine epithelia which takes time to revert back to normal in terms of normal proliferative and secretory phase. Continue Duphaston as per the guidelines of your doc and have patience for a period of 1 - 2 cycles to get the rhythm back to normal. Do remember to use additional contraceptive measures as condom or others to avoid pregnancy during this period for sure if sexually active.
