Hello I am very young at heart no health issues, no children looking like im 38 but I am going on 52. My menstrual cycle always still every month and normal. Last month I missed my menstrual. I had a migraine then started the next day. I never get Migraines just found out how awful they are. I have had my reg period then when it was almost over on 6th day I started having small blood clots. like every 4 hours or so. Period was not heavy just continuing. I thought it was over few times and no more blood clots and just 2 days ago started again. my period if that is what it still is , is now going on 16 days. Its not heavy just med to light and no pain. I take a multi mineral everyday and feel fine. should I go to the ER or doctor? thank you. Nina
The period before menopause which is called perimenopause may last anywhere from 1-10 years. During this period various hormonal changes occur in the body. The most common symptom is irregular menses. Periods may initially become irregular, then decrease in duration and flow, finally stopping altogether. Various other symptoms can also be experienced by some (not all) women differing in the duration and intensity. These are hot flushes, migraines, fatigue, breast tenderness, dryness of the vagina, mood swings, etc.
Most women attain may menopause between the age group of 45-55 years.
Hope this helps.
Regards, Dr Geeta
