Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Missed Period, Mood Swings And Increased Appetite?
I am 6 days late on my period which I am never late, I have lower back pain, mood swings and increased appetite. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both have come back negative. is there a possibility I am pregnant and just too soon to tell? Or am I not pregnant?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM If pregnant, a pregnancy test will come positive by the time you miss your period. If the tests were done with valid test kits, pregnancy may be eliminated. There are many other conditions that may make you to miss your period or be late and may also give you the other symptoms you present. Some of these causes may include: hormonal imbalances, stress, exercise, PID/STI.I will suggest you just stay calm and expect. If no menses in say a week, you see the Gynecologist for evaluation and investigation.A pelvic ultrasound may be needed for initial evaluation and if need be, hormonal checks and STI work-ups may be requested. Hope this will help Best regards
