General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
It is your irregular taking of oral contraceptive which has caused a hormonal imbalance to cause such a delay or it may be the pills have postponed your ovulation day and unknowingly you got pregnant.
If pregnancy test is +ve after 21-24 days of unprotected sex and before that it remains -ve, you can go for blood pregnancy test to exclude pregnancy after 15 more days.
In case you don't want pregnancy, she can give you medicine to induce periods (if you are not pregnant, you will get bleeding in 8 days of taking the medicine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
