Hi,

Absent periods without pregnancy can be due to:
- Oral contraceptives with single hormone. Progesterone content
- If it is not the case such condition indicates hormonal imbalance (ovary or thyroid problem)
- After debilitating illness with weakness (anemia)
You need to get investigated to pin point the cause followed by specific treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
