Hallow Dear,

Gestational sac without heart activity means it is a sac without baby. This is called blighted ovum. Please repeat the scan after one week. If still the heart activity cannot be seen and if the margins of sac have become irregular, the diagnosis of blighted ovum is confirmed. Such pregnancies do not grow. If you do not abort naturally in spite of blighted ovum, you will have to undergo termination of pregnancy.

If after one week foetal cardiac activity is seen in the scan, then nothing to worry. It is normal pregnancy.

I hope this helps you.
