What Causes Missing Pulse Feeling In Wrists?

I am a 25 year old overweight female with PCOS and have had slightly high blood pressure for a few years. I regularly check my pulse because I recently started doing light exercise and plan to go longer/moderate as the weeks go by. Anyway, I have always been able to feel my pulse strongly on either of my wrists whenever I want but there have been a few times lately that I can't feel it at all in my wrists for a few hours or more. Eventually I'm just able to feel it again after awhile when I check it again. What could cause this? When I can't feel it in my wrists I am able to feel it slightly in my neck but what would cause you to feel it strongly in your wrists sometimes but not others? Could I maybe have a blockage or something?

Hello and thank you for using HCM.
I carefully read your question and I understand your concern. But you don't have to worry, its nothing serious. I will try to explain you something.
The pulse that you feel in your wrist is a product of hart rate and blood pressure. You might not feel your pulse well because of to reasons. You might have lower frequencies than usual and it is quite difficult for you to catch it as you did before or because of lower blood pressure.
So, if you have started to make some exercises and started to reduce weight, your whole organism will have changes in bllod preasure and heart frequencies. So, if sometimes you are not able to catch your wrist pulse and you catch it a little beat later you should not worry. If you don't have any complain, any symptom than you just had a lower blood pressure and you were not able to catch the pulse in the wrist.
This does not mean that you have any blockage, because if it was so you would not have pulse at any time of the day.
So, my opinion is that you should not worry and keep going on exercising and loosing weight.
Hope I was helpful.
Best regards.
