Hi, I am a 33 yr old female who has had debilitating lower back pain for over a year. As the year progressed and I had mri, CT scans, numerous blood tests ( 1/2 my thyroid removed ) and emg. My emg came back with L5/S1 radiculopathy in both lower extremities, my mri came back with only slightly herniated L5. I have also had bladder issues (incontinence). The mri of my cervical spine showed moderate stenosis with herniation of 3 discs (this does not hurt at all). I have had 3 epidural lumbar injections with no help to the leg pain. Activity makes it worse, but also can t stay in sitting or laying position very long either. I had 4 cervical epidurals as well, again with no relief. Now my entire life as I remember I have 2 lumps which were the size of a dime on my lower right back and 1 on my left. They move when they are touched. When I was younger I asked my pcp about them and he said they were just lymph nodes or muscle spasms. They are now larger than a quarter and if I press on them my limb on that side goes completely numb. I also was told that my mri revealed 3 hemangiomas but they rarely cause problems so they were dismissed as cause of possible pain. The only medication that seems to help a little is lyrica, but am not longer on it as my insurance has changed since I have not been able to walk or work. As of 3/1 I get to see a new pcp and start from scratch all over again. I have seen 3 different neurosurgeons who all just treated me like I was crazy, but they never knew about lumps in my back. I don t know where to start and really just want my life back. I had to shut down my dental practice. Could fatty cysts cause radiculopathy and nerve pain? I also am curious on looking into hemangiomas or even tarlov cysts. Also I did have a lumbar sympathetic nerve block which was the best 4 hours of the past year. Any ideas?
