What Causes Mood Swings After Increasing Dosage Of Venlafaxine And Seroquel?

I feel I am the best judge of my mood swings. With giving up smoking and weed after 40 years my usual reasonably calm persona has been not coping. With the difficulty of seeing my doc to change the amount of Venlafaxine and seroquel I have upped my dosage. I now take 300mgs Venlafaxine am and 50 mgs Seroquel am and 100mgs Seroquel at night. Just after a short while I am plateauing without huge ups and downs. Is this ok til I see my doc?

Hi,

Ah, cannabis withdrawal produces significant and fairly long lasting withdrawal in at least 1 in six. One should not change doses without letting the doctor know. Both of these drugs have relatively narrow safety ranges with side effects being triggered by higher doses. Often anti-depressants that are more sedating are used in this context but I cannot say in your particular case. Consultation by phone or video are quite common now.
