What Causes Mood Swings And Impulsive Behavior?
I have been taking Prozac for depression for 23 years for the most part at a dosage of 20mg /day but was bumped up to 60 mg approx 3 years ago. Most recently I have been experiencing extreme mood swings and impulsive behaviors including uncontrolled behavior as a result I have been told to discontinue the Prozac. I am 66 y/o I reduced the dosage from 60 to 20 and stayed at that daily dose for a month.

The mood swings with impulsive behavior in a person who is on anti-depressant medicine is most likely due to bipolar disorder treated as long standing depression or newer conversion to bipolar from the depression. You must consult your MD psychiatrist for further modifications of the dosage and addition of newer molecules for control of impulsive behavior.
