What Causes More Thirst And Frequent Urination?

my friend has been drinking a lot of water (27 glasses today) and has been going to the bathroom frequently as well. His doctor did a test (didnt test sugars though) and said that he didnt have diabetes. could he have early signs that the doctors couldnt detect, or is it something else, and if so, what?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir i can understand your concern
in my opinion the excess thirst and urination in diabetes are due to osmotic action of high blood sugar.
there are several conditions which could have thirst and increase urination with out raise in blood sugar.
they are
1.urinary tract infection
2.psychogenic polydipsia
3.diabetes insipidus.
4.Drugs
in conditions like urinary tract infections there will be burning during passing urine

Even in early stage of diabetes also there will be slight elevation of after food blood sugar with out any symptom

i suggest your friend to meet doctor and go for proper evaluation.
Regards
