Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went to my PCP for burning lips, tongue, and sore hard palate. My upper lip swells off and on. She gave me a mouth rinse with lidocaine. I've also had tingly, itchy forehead, cheeks, my nose feels swollen, and my skin feels tight. I have suspected a reaction to Advair for my mouth, but what about the other symptoms?
As per your complain ADVAIR contains FLUTICASONE and SALMETEROL.. Fluticasone is a steroid and acts as an anti-inflammatory drug and Salmeterol is a bronchodialator and is used to prevent asthmatic attacks..
All the above symptoms you explained are as a side effects of the Advair..
Its not necessary that it can cause only side effects or allergic reactions in mouth but can cause symptoms in other parts of body as well..
I would suggest you to consult your doctor and explain the entire symptoms so that he can either change the medicine or reduce the dose.. Change of medicine is more acceptable..
Hope your query is solved..
