What Causes Mouth Sores And Black Patches On Tongue After Having Ciprofloxacin?
Hi there. I have been on ciprofloxacin for a few days now and I've noticed a couple of problem and I'm not sure if they are related to the medicine. I've developed a few sores in my mouth and my tongue has a couple of black patches on it. Also I have been dealing for about a year now with Eczema around my groin area but since I started taking the antibiotic, it has flared up, is all raised and bumpy and very painful. Are these side effects of the antibiotic or should I be worried. Like I said, I never noticed any of these symptoms until after I started the meds
Hello, Since you are having already problem of eczema ,as eczema it self is a reactive response to an allergic trigger. Mostly it runs in family, that means you may be sensitive to some allergic things those can be dust, a food particle, any change in weather, and medicines. If some new medicine ( ciprofloxin) is triggering your symptoms in groin and tongue region , you should promptly stop it and discuss with your physician to change the antibiotic for which ever cause you were taking.Other side effects of ciprofloxin can be loose motions, disturbed sleep, nausea , vomiting. Hopefully my answer is helpfull for you. Dr.Maheshwari
