What Causes Movable Hard Lumps On Either Side Of Jaw?
HI there, I have two hard lumps that are movable and mirror eachother on either side of my jaw. they have been there quite some time. I did see my Gp a while ago and he said I was probably fighting ani nfection. I do haev a bit of a cough and chesty thing at the moment. Can you possible advise me.... Thanks Shirley Stockdale
Hi friend, Here your GP exactly said the fact. Nothing need to worry about it. The hard lumps( ganglions) are a point where white blood cells are concentrated ,these white blood cells are fighting against all infections infections in the body through secreting specific antigens. If there is an active infection in an area of body, the nearest ganglions are activated and they may become more enlarged because they are fighting against the infection. They will come to normal conditions within one to six weaks as the infection goes away. Here you had some throat or chest infections( as you said), so you need only to take the required antibiotic medications with advice from your gp. The lumps will disappear as the infection get cured. I think it is enough to satisfy you. We are happy to help you more, you can write us. Wish you a good health.
