What Causes Movable Lump In Knee Post Meniscus Ligament Repair Surgery?
Year and a half ago I got my acl repaired (all went well) and only 5 months ago I tore my meniscus ligament and after surgery and rehab for that there was a hard lump left over, it moves all around my knee and comes ago, I m playing a lot of sport at the moment and when the lump comes its very annoying and can be sore, it tends to catch and stop my knee from straightening. Any advice would be much appreciated.
The lump in your knee joint can be any of the following: 1) Hematoma or blood clot 2) Loose bodies 3) Any tumor 4) Baker's cyst 5) Other kinds of cysts
I recommend you the following: 1) Thorough clinical examination of knee joint by an orthopedic surgeon. 2) If necessary, X-ray and ultrasound imaging of knee joint 3) Treatment depends upon the cause of lump 4) Physical therapy 5) Pain relieving medications like NSAIDs like Ibuprofen or Naproxen can be taken twice daily for pain relief.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
