What Causes Movable Lump On The Jawline Of A Toddler?
My 2 year old has a ball light bump on her jawline that moves. I just discovered it last night. It seems swollen. She has been sick last week she got swollen palms with red dots and now stuffy nose and diarrhea. Is this bump from a virus , something to worry about?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a small ball like bump on the jawline that is moveable and also having a history of recent viral infection seems to be a swollen lymph node secondary to infection..
Many a times the swollen lymph node takes a longer time to regress in size and can take a few days for resolving after resolution of infection, therefore you need not to worry as the swelling will subside.. Secondly as the lump is mobile it is generally not due to any serious or malignant cause..
I would suggest you to do alternate warm and cool compresses over the nodes for faster resolution.. In case if it does not regress in size in 15 days consult a Paediatrician and he can do a clinical evaluation and if needed a Biopsy/FNAC can be advised for confirmation of cause and treatment can be done accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
