General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Mucus in the stool is commonly due to infection, malabsorption, IBS, food intolerance(lactose). Sometimes, it is also due to side effects of Miralax when taken for a longer time.

Report to your treating doctor so that the dose can be monitored or a different medication can be given. Keep the doctor informed of all the medications you are taking, serious side effects can occur due to drug interactions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
