What Causes Mucus In Stools Along With Bad Odour?

Hello, I have been experiencing having mucus in my stool or my anus, it has a fishy odor and has been on and off for a few months now. I m in no pain and do not believe there is blood in my stool, there may have been tiny specs of blood after wiping. I have some food sensitivities but when I eat carefully and take a probiotic I m okay. My stool has also been in smaller pieces as well like pebbles, but again this symptom is also non persistent. My mother has chrons disease and had many more issues and pain, I do not have pain but worry that this can be an early sign? Please advise..

Mucus in stool with bad odour, diarrhea is common in several abdominal diseases besides crohns disease. You do not have fever, no pain no weight loss. If i have to treat such a patient i will advice some investigations Hb, tlc, dlc esr, Stool examination for ova, parasites , difficile toxins, leukocytes .As chances of some other cause has to be considered If i have to treat such a patient i will advice tab metronidazole with diloxanemide 500 three times a day , tab ciprofloxacin 500 twice a day, cap omeprazole three times a day,. Total treatment should be given fo 14 days. If patient is cured it is over. If need arises i advice further investigations like serum panaca test,ct scan of abdomen. At the moment some improvement in treatment may have to done after test reports arrival.
