What Causes Mucus Tasting Like Ammonia And Difficulty In Breathing?

Hello, Ive been running an avg of 2 miles every other day and every time I run I start coughing up mucus that tastes like ammonia and that makes it harder for me to breathe which is hindering my run time. Also along with the mucus every time I take a breath in It burns what im pretty sure is the opening to my wind pipe and it feels harder to breathe in.
