Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was recently hit by an open palm on the ear. Directly afterward I had been deaf and then ringing started to happen. Fast foward a few hours, I m still hearing muffled sounds. But instead of it being on the ear that got hit, I hear very muffled on the other. The one that actually got hit feels hollow almost. I blew my nose and it felt like air was going out of my hit ear drum. Any ideas why I d be hearing muffled sounds from the opposite side??
The trauma to the ear could have caused injury to both ears.
Sudden onset of hearing loss should always be assessed so it would be best for you to see your doctor or an ENT specialist as soon as you can. This is to ensure that there is no long term damage to the ear.
I hope this helps
