What Causes Multiple Lipomas On Chin Growing Larger And Painful?

I have multiple lipomas. I have one on my chin that is becoming large, and painful. Sometimes it will become hard. Now it has taken on a purple color. A surgeon told me the scar from the surgery would be worse than having the lipoma. I'm kind of worried. Does this lipoma need removal?/

Understanding your concern.

I have gone through your query .Lipomas are growth of fat tissue under the skin.Lipomas occur mostly in those individual who is having family history of lipomas ans sometimes preexisting conditions like adenomatous polyposis.

Usually lipomas become painful when there is involvement of nerve as in your case for example mental nerve or inferior alveolar nerve passing through chin area.

It become important to remove lipoma when it start becoming painful.

I would suggest you to consult doctor again and discuss other options of treatment of lipoma if he/she denying surgical removal.

Other treatment options are liposuction and steroid injection.For now what you can do is apply turmeric paste to lipoma ,it will help in reducing the size .
