Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had low grade fever for about 3 days. Temp about 100. Achey muscles but no other real symptoms. No sore throat, cough, congestion, etc. Advil makes the fever go away for about 6 hrs but then it returns. Today, aches a little worse with particular ache in middle of my upper back. Any ideas?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
A low-grade fever along with body ache is most common in viral fever. It will take three to four days for you to recover and meanwhile you need to take only symptomatic treatment.
Continue taking Advil at 8 hourly intervals. Take lots of fluids and keep yourself hydrated. If you notice any other symptoms like skin eruptions or abdominal pain, then get yourself checked by a physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma.Amman
