What Causes Muscle Ache In The Arms And Legs?

The muscles in my arms and legs are hurting badly, not while I m still but when I use them, especially when I stretch them doing things you normally do every day. They have been hurting for about a month now. The pain is excruciating, I d give it about a 8 on pain scale, then after about a minute the pain goes away slowly. Any idea what could be causing this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per history, it seems to be myopathy or myositis like muscle problem.

Check your electrolyte level, especially potassium.

Neurological examination and muscle reflex has to be checked.

If nerve compression suspected after examination, then X-ray or MRI spine needed. Consult neurologist for examination. If needed EMG and NCV like investigation will be done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
