General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to 'Ask me Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

both lipitor and generic rosuvastatin can cause muscle ache.
both are lipid lowering agents and causes myopathy as side effects.
so if you are severe side effects then ask physician to change over another group of lipid lowering drug.

Hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
Dr. Hiren
