What Causes Muscle Fatigue Along With Tingling And Numbing Sensation In Arms?

Hi there, to give you a rough idea of whats been going on with my health I ll start from the beginning. I m a 22 year old female, my symptoms started in august 2013. The symptoms started in my left side, starting with my hand and gradually spreading all over. The symptoms were mainly muscle fatigue, tingling, numbess in the left side of my head in winter when I was out in the cold for about 15 minutes. The symptoms over the past few years have gotten worse. I ve been for MRI scans, to cut a long story short, had a scan in January 2015, white spots had appeared, was sent for a lumbar puncture, nothing came up. I had another scan on june 10th 2016 and today received a letter which said. There has been no changes in my scan since 2015. A few white spots were noted in the parietal lobes and havent changed in any way. The radiologist commented that the foci of high signal parietal lobes may actually be developmental in origin. I was looking to find out what this means? I also dont know where to go from here as my symptoms don t ever ease and only progress over time and I also feel the neurologist that I see, has no idea what is wrong. I m unsure myself I would just like to get to the bottom of the issue for peace of mind. Caroline

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Tingling & numbness that you have been experiencing is indicative of some neuropathy developing. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Neurologist, get Nerve Conduction test & Nerve biopsy done. You may need to get a repeat CT, MRI, EEG, etc done. Get treated at the earliest.

You may take vitamin B6, B12 with minerals as a dietary supplement. Muscle fatigue is commonly due to stress & anxiety, dehydration, imbalance in the sodium potassium content of your body, BP or blood glucose issues. Sometimes, thyroid dysfunction may cause fatigue. Get a thorough health examination done, get treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
