What Causes Muscle Pain In Legs, Arms And Hands In A Diabetic Patient?

I have high blood pressure, diabetes type 2 and sleep apnea. I suffer from achey legs, muscle pain in legs, arms & hands. Achey joints and bone pain. I am allergic to Statins, so I am now not on them. But I still have the muscle & bone pain. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to peripheral neuropathy which is very common in diabetes. I suggest using a painkiller such as Acetaminophen 500 mg three times a day.

If the symptoms continue, you need a prescription painkiller such as Gabapentin. I also suggest using a magnesium supplement.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
