What Causes Muscle Pain On The Right Side Of The Waist After Walking?

A few days ago I took a walk and walked about 30 minutes. The next afternoon I began to experience pain in my muscles on the right side of my waist. It s quite painful when I get up from a chair and start walking. It gets better after walking a bit but stays somewhat painful. I m quite active just normally but Don t exercise on a regular basis.

Hello,

A side stitch is a pain felt on either side of your abdomen. It's more commonly reported on the right side. A side stitch is usually experienced during prolonged athletic activities, such as long walking, running, basketball, or cycling. There is nothing to worry make moderate activity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
