What Causes Muscle Stiffness And Spasms In The Body?

45 year old male. i have all over muscle pain accompanied with spasms and stiffness. i can barely stretch when i try and it causes pain as if my muscles will snap. the range of flexibility is minimal. muscles are taught most of the time. this causing me disturbed sleep almost every night, and pain in the middle of the night so i cannot sleep. i do work outdoors 75 % of the time. i have not but will be checking for lyme disease. though i do not have some or most of the sypmtoms of lyme with the exception of the muscle soreness and stiffness and pain.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
