Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband aprox 9 years ago tired Lipitor until he started feeling muscle weakness and pain in his legs. His doctor took him off of it and has been trying to diagnosis him ever since. He survived on low doses of Prednisone (up and down) for several years and recently is having a severe relapse. More pain, weakness and cramping. Grasping at straws by this time and came across a diagnosis that fits a lot of his symptoms. Myotomic Dystrophy. Should I look into this and with what specialty?
HI Well come to HCM It is not mentioned here for what your husband is on steroid (Prednisone) if this is complain of pain then this could be muscular pain may be due to some functional elements, in my opinion no need to give any steroid, proper diagnosis would be necessary and this may needs some investigation right from the blood work to imaging studies, hope this information helps, take care.
