What Causes Muscle Weakness And Joint Pain In Arms After Taking Concerta?
Hi, I am currently taking 54mg of Concerta extended release for ADHD. I am having muscle weakness, elbow joint pain in both arms, and overall feeling very achy (muscle/joints) in entire body. I am 50 year old male. Does Concerta cause muscle weakness, joint pain as side effect?
I would require more detail from you before I can answer that questions. For example, for how long have you been taking Concerta? Did you recently start it? What is the duration of your symptoms? Do you have these symptoms for less than 7 days or more than 7 days? Once I have details about these questions, I can answer your question.
Some general details about the side effects of Concerta. Stimulants can make you feel fatigued, and some people do experience body ache while using them. Although rhabdomyolysis, which can cause muscle pain, can happen with stimulant use, it is very unlikely at the dose you are currently taking.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saralkumar R. Desai, General & Family Physician
