Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes My Mothers's Shortness Of Breath After A Physical Activity?
My mom almost 78 has been saYing that there is something not quite right with her heart, has had ekg n stress test maybe 7 to 8 yrs ago and fine but she says if she puts arms above head sometimes gets lightheaded, if does any sort of physical activity gets real hot and short of breath, and then usually next day after a lot of physical activity will get headache, and she heard somewhere if have vertical lines on earlobes can mean heart prob and she def has big vertical lines. Where should she start?
Presence of lines doesn't mean she has some sort of heart disease, but just an increased risk due to the association found. So she should get her echo done to look for the presence of any heart disease. Also, get hemoglobin tested. If the echo is negative then negative stress test rules out heart disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
