What Causes Nausea And Difficulty With Body Balance After Taking Flu Shots?

I have dizziness, some trouble with balance, nausea, especially when I turn my head from side to side. I received a flu shot on Thursday, and I woke up with these symptoms on Friday. It seems to be worse in the morning. I ve been reading about labrynthitis. If that is what I have, would Benadry be a good OTC option?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It could be labyrinthitis , as mentioned, especially if the symptoms last for hours at a time.
If they last for only seconds to minutes, then it may be benign paroxysmal positional vertigo which is another inner ear condition that can cause these symptoms.

Benadryl can be used, it should help. It should only be used for a few days because sometimes the use of medication affects the ability of the inner ear to heal on its own.
Normally meds are used for a less than a week , if they are needed.

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is also treated with a maneuver called epley maneuver.

If the symptoms continue for a prolonged period or worsen , then it would be best for you to see a doctor for assessment and additional treatment.
