Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
14 year male, sudden onset of nausea on evening of day 1 but able to sleep without issue, nauseas and vomiting day 2 and day3, dry heaving significantly day 3 and today day 4. Able to take in 22 oz of liquids on day 4, dry heaving stopped afternoon of day 4 (Had 12 mg Zofran generic on day 4). Fatigued, lethargic, laying in bed, previous 2 nights of restlessness. Eaten 1/2 slice of toast. Diarrhea on day 2 and 3. Discomfort in middle of abdomen and back. Normal development to date.
* Sounds to be in concern with intestine infection through some sort of bacterial or viral bug with or without pancreas inflammation.
Though primary care has been taken with zofran and other supportive care, it is mandatory to get an evaluation of the underlying cause with ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis as well as complete blood counts to evaluate for the cause and precise care.
It is best recommended to get hospital admission for instant recovery onset and prevent further complications at various body system levels.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
