Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My heart doctor doubled my lipitor dose from 40 to 80 mg. M-W-F. Last night was my second dose. Today when I woke up I was a little sick to my stomach and was feeling kind of weak. Do you think my body will get used to this or should I drop back down to 40 mg. The nurse said to try it and if I couldn t tolerate it to drop back.
Feeling sick or nausea is a common, but minor side effect of lipitor. The dosage you have been placed on is also safe.
However, your body would well adjust to this dose. If the unlikely event of the nausea persisting occurs, revisit your doctor for evaluation and discontinuation of the drug.
I hope i have answered your question.
Best wishes.
