What Causes Nausea And Low Grade Fever After Recovering From Dengue?

My daughter (3.5yrs) was hospitalized for 2 days due to Dengue Fever. Today she recovered a bit and now at home with few symptoms such as.. 1) she is hardly eating or drinking anything? For most of the sip or bite she has vomiting sensation. Her body temp is 100.9 F. 2) she is not walking like before and I assume it might be due to pains in joints. Appreciate your suggestion!! Thanks in advance.

Hi
Thanks for trusting HealthCare magic for your health problems.

I very well understand your worry about your daughter. Dengue is usually treated symptomatically. As cellular as well as hunoral immunity defeat the virus dengue is treated on its own. So as far as treatment concern, if platelet count is not decreasing there is no worry. For pain and fever just give her paracetamol syrup. Give her few sips of WHO approved oral rehydration solutions every half an hour to maintain hydration. To control vomiting domperidon can be used, but please consult with your pediatrician before giving it.

Hope you get all the answers.

Regards
