What Causes Nausea And Stomach Upsets After A Large Bowel Movement?

I experience nausea/upset stomach after a large bowel movement. I go regulary and have no problem doing so. I have always eaten a high fiber diet to keep regular.
I try to eat something after a large bowel movement, to ease the nausea. It really does not help much.
I am a healthy 43 year old woman, taking no medications.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Nausea, upset stomach and large bowel movements could be suggestive of dyspepsia (indigestion). Although, it may not need any specific treatment, but for the nausea, Tab Ondansetron can be tried, but before taking it, you can keep yourself on nil by mouth for few hours. If this helps you, then let the indigestion phase go away smoothly and it may take few hours. If this is nausea, then stop taking anything by mouth. If the symptoms are severe, then I/V medication is must to subside nausea.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
