Hello,
I can understand your concerns as a carrying mother.
The symptoms you have mentioned are universally common in early periods of
pregnancy and nothing to worry in it.The nausea and vomiting in pregnancy are generally termed as
morning sickness and it will respond well to symptomatic therapy.
Let me explain briefly about the physiology behind these common problem.During pregnancy the level of female sex hormone "HCG" increases and it will trigger the nausea and vomiting. There would be increased acid production which in turn cause reflex and
abdominal pain. The blood flow to the vagina also increased and it cause pain and tenderness. All the symptoms will subside when you enter to your second trimester.
I suggest you to consult a gynecologist and get the following done:
1.Do a urine routine examination to rule out UTI(
urinary tract infection) which present with abdominal pain.
2.Drink plenty of water and have healthy diet, avoid spicy food stuff.
3.The combination of
doxylamine and
pyridoxine has been approved by the FDA for treating nausea in pregnancy.
4.You might require antacids and PPI (
Proton pump inhibitors) for reflex as prescribed by the doctor.
5.You may also require Intravenous fluids (IV) to restore hydration, electrolytes, vitamins, and nutrients depending upon the severity of vomiting.
hope I have answered your query.
Be relaxed and avoid unwanted stresses.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
Dr.Shinas Hussain
