What Causes Nausea, Appetite Loss, Discolored Urine And Stiffness In Neck?

In the last few weeks I have experienced severe nausea, and total lack of appetite. I also have had discolored urine. My neck and shoulders are stiff and I have trouble turning my head from side to side. My pulse rate and blood pressure have been elevated. My legs are swollen and quite painful and I have a hard time getting to and staying asleep. I have lost several pounds. I have hemachromatosis that is under control. I am 80 and weigh less than 100 lbs.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the hemochromatosis is a condition where there is iron over load in the body manifesting as various clinical features.

* It is the underlying auto immune response which gives rise to such symptoms as GI upset with nausea, decreased appetite, muscles involvement with stiffness, autonomic hyperfunctioning with raised pulse and blood pressure.

* After thorough clinical examination, precise muscle relaxants oral chelating agents for iron overload as dexferoxazole or others phlebotomy in selected cases help great way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
