Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Nausea, Dizziness, Chest Pain And Heavy Sweating?
my husband is experiencing nausea and feeling faint when he yawns and this just started. he tends to yawn more than normal now and has been getting 8 hrs sleep. he has high blood pressure and is taking cholesterol med to reduce it. he complained also of chest pain and sweating to the point of feeling sticky and clammy. What could be causing this?
Your husband seems to be having a condition called vasovagal reaction. It is due to stimulation of a nerve called vagus which can cause light headedness and cold sweats. There is nothing to worry about it however you can advise your husband to lie down or sit in a safe place to avoid falling down when such a spell happens.
In addition to above I would advise you to get his blood pressure monitored regularly twice a day and review the medications with BP recording and also get investigated for chest pain.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
