What Causes Nausea, Fever And Headache In A Child?

My son is 9 years old and has had relatively severe nausea for the last 4 days but it is on and off. He s fine for a few hours then feels yucky for an hour or so then hes back to normal. He has not actually thrown up, just says that he feels like he is going to. On Thursday morning he had a low (99.3) fever and it was gone within an hour. He was also complaining about headache yesterday. The guy we saw at urgent care told me it was probably just something viral going around and gave him ondansetron but that doesn t seem to be helping.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.

I suggest giving him Tylenol for the fever.

I also suggest giving him daily probiotics and Ondasteron as prescribed by your doctor.

I recommend to drink liquids and eat a plain diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi, General &Family Physician
