Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
While in Hong Kong in March, I had a quick onset of nausea and fever followed by violent vomiting. A doctor was called to the hotel and gave me common mess for nausea and pain and fever. I assumed I had food poisoning except that I never had diarrhoea. Instead I was constipated and exhausted with residual headache and nausea for a couple of weeks after. Now it s June and I m still dealing with the constipation, and I ve recently had flu-like symptoms with a rash - something I haven t experienced before. I am normally very active and fit, but since March have been unable to resume regular activity due to fatigue. I m worried I may have some more serious illness (that was wrongly assumed to be food poisoning) that is continuing untreated. Suggestions?
Diarrhea is very common during travel time but if you still experience same kind of symptoms then you should consult a physician personally for proper physical and diagnostic evaluation and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
