What Causes Nausea Followed By Diarrhea And Abdominal Pain?
Suddenly last night I became nauseous, after a few hours I started with the bowel movements that became mild diarrah, however when it passed through my lower intestine it hurt quite a bit. It ended by daylight. But now my abdomen is sore to the touch and fells woolen. I ve had similar occurrences at other times.
The most common reason for acute diarrhea is infection which can be viral or bacterial usually. These infections would also cause nausea and abdominal pain.
Treatment normally involves: (1) pain medication as necessary, avoid meds such as naproxen, cataflam or ibuprofen because these would irritate the stomach
(2)holding off solid food till there is a 4 hour window with no symptoms
When this time period occurs then start using small amount of dry food
(3)fluids to prevent dehydration eg gatorade or other sports drinks because these would replace fluids and electrolytes
(4)probiotics
If the diarrhea has been going on for 4 weeks or more then it would be called chronic diarrhea and your doctor would need to investigate to determine the cause
I hope this helps
