hi dear. welcome to HealthCareMagic. I have gone through your queries and understood your concerns. I'm sorry about your health condition.
Anastrozole is used to treat
breast cancer in menopause women. Anastrozole is a non-steroidal
aromatase inhibitor. It works by lowering estrogen level (blood estradiol concentrations), which may decrease the size and reverse growth of the tumor. the symptoms like you've said above are caused by the side effects of anastrozole.
this medicine can trigger side effects such as GI discomfort (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea,
constipation, mild stomach pain,
stomach upset, loss of appetite), cough
sore throat and flu-like symptoms (eg, muscle aches, tiredness), dizziness, hair loss, headache, hot flashes, trouble sleeping,
vaginal dryness, weakness, weight changes, breast tenderness, mood changes etc.
to be concerned here some tips for you:
1. if the symptoms you have persist or get any worse, it's better to contact your treating doctor, you need
medical advice to get right treatment for them.
2. use regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
3. do not increase your dose or use this drug more often or for longer than prescribed. Your condition will not improve any faster, and your risk of serious side effects will increase.
4. take this medication as directed by your doctor, usually once a day. it can be taken with or without food, but to avoid nausea you can take it right after meals.
I hope this answer can help you much to reduce your worries. please let me know if you want to know about your health condition. we can discuss it in HCM. get well soon. take care.
regards,
dr. Asti Yuliadha
