What Causes Nausea, Neck Pain, Breathing Difficulty, Excessive Sweating And Weakness?

On Thursday, Apr 20, 2017, I awoke feeling nauseated with pain in my neck and difficulty breathing, sweating and unable to walk without feeling weak. I am 48 year old female in good health. I was unable to go to work because I felt exhausted, dizzy and foggy and I believe I had rapid heart beat but not sure because I did not check and did not go to doctor. I stayed home and slept most of the day and felt OK to go to work on Friday, April 21. I still felt like I could not walk straight. Felt that way on Friday and today, Saturday, April 22 however, I felt better after having a drink (alcoholic) on Friday evening and Saturday with dinner. I m concerned, could I be alcoholic? Should I attempt to stop drinking? I drink wine, mostly red, almost every day, occasionally white and liquor sometimes but mostly red wine. thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per your clinical history is concerned please do a clinical examination by your Doctor [endocrinologist] and to confirm do few investigations like [CBC with differential, T3, T4, TSH, and thyroid scan]. Your problem has no relation to alcohol but if you like then you may control it.

Do follow lifestyle modifications like this -
1) Ask your doctor about supplementing your diet. If you've lost a great deal of weight or experienced muscle wasting, you may benefit from adding extra calories and protein to your diet. Your dietitian can help you with meal planning.
2) Try to take enough calcium and vitamin D.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo,
