What Causes Nausea, Vomiting And Burning Sensation In The Stomach After Walking?
Male, 22 yrs old. Within 30 min of waking, starts feeling nauseas, and vomiting starts. Severe retching, trying to get something to come up and out. Stomach burns, sometimes yells out in pain. Been going on for years. Can be every day for days and weeks.... then just stop. Upper GI showed nothing.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Since you are young male of 22 and the problem is going on for years, it is better to get other investigations other than upper GI Endoscopy alone. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Nausea, vomiting, retching 30 minutes within waking up indicates that there is severe acidity with GERD or can have Achalasia Cardia. This can be seen by Barium swallow study under fluoroscopy guidance. Also needed is barium study for stomach particularly in reverse or head-low position and of duodenum. These will a probable diagnosis and a plan for management which can be in the form of a PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone and antacid to be taken the moment you wake up so that the symptoms may be well controlled as they come within half an hour of waking up.
