Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 12 year old son with epilepsy was suffering from nausea. The doctor felt it was likely the Epilim and so has changed him to Topomax. He took his last Epilim 3 days ago and the nausea is improved but still present. How long before we can say the Epilim is out of his system and therefore something else is causing his nausea?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you wondering about the causes nausea while on Epilim for epilepsy . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like motion sickness , migraine , gastroenteritis , ear infection , food poisoning or anxiety disorder , but in your case the symptoms seems to be due to epilim as its side effects . I would suggest you to consult your doctor for proper evaluation . Doctor may alter the does or prescribe substitute and antiemetic drug after careful examination . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
