Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Nausea While On Treatment For Ductal Breast Cancer?
I am a 50 year old female currently undergoing treatment for invasive ductile breast cancer with two lymph nodes positive. For the past 11 days I have experienced nausea causing me to eat less and pain on my right side. An ultrasound yesterday revealed two polyps in my gallbladder measuring up to 4 mm in size. I have lost 7 pounds in the last ten days. What would you advise? Thanks.
As per your history, the treatment is either radiotherapy or chemotherapy, both the cases are responsible for nausea and vomiting. These medications can also lead to anorexia that may be the cause for your weight loss.
Take proper diet as suggested by your treatment team. Also, make sure you follow the post-therapy instructions properly. These treatments can also precipitate bacterial or viral infections too.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
