What Causes Nausea, chills And Pain On Right Side Of Body While Having Psoriatic Arthritis?
My daughter who has been taking medicine for a recent diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis for about two months. All has been going as expected. She has been nausea and has lost 37 lbs in almost three months. However, last night she went to bed with chills and a flushed face. She told me the flushed face and chills have been happening. Tonight she is having pain in her right side a few inches from away from her naval. She said it didn t radiate from her naval to her to the side. We are worried it could be her appendix.
It can be due to appendix and should be evaluated by a surgeon as soon as possible, abdominal ultrasound and blood counts for infection should be done. Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful along with anti-spasmodic like drotavarine for symptomatic relief.
She may need CT abdomen and pelvis as well as for any abdominal lymph nodes, any other lesion or growth as such weight loss needs to be evaluated properly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
