What Causes Neck Lump After Sistrunk Procedure?

I had the sistrunk procedure done last month. Everything was fine, swelling went down and no pain. Until a couple days ago I noticed a quarter size lump about half inch from the middle of my neck on left side on the scar. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Can u tell me what it could be? It hurts a little when I touch it but that s it.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Possible causes like recurrence or fluid collection must be ruled out. You can go for an ultrasound scan to confirm the diagnosis. Minor fluid collections will get absorbed even without any treatment. If there is pus collection it must be drained.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
